Other generous contributors include Illinois Division Engineer Dave Hawley, Louis Wilson and Wally Smith, a retired Wisconsin Division engineer. Unfortunately, Wally and his wife died in a tragic automobile accident in August 2004. Many of the people is his photographs remain unidentified. If you see someone you know or recognize the event at which the picture was taken – please let us know and we will add the information. Again, e-mail the webmaster.

What
more appropriate photo is there to start this off with than “The 400.” This is a 1941 company photo taken as No. 401
was passing under Bridge B, a few feet west of Clinton Street Tower. I guess we could title this picture “All Gone!” The covered wagons, the streamliner consist,
