Palatine Station

From R.J. DeBerg, we have three photos taken in April 1971 when a new Palatine Depot was dedicated.  Palatine is “hard” on depots.  The 1971 edition was at least the third (maybe 4th) station structure in town and was replaced in June 2001 by the “edifice” shown below.

The crowd assembled for the April 1971 dedication was joined by the “Palatine Special.”

Looking northwest – April 1971.

Looking to the east – April 1971

This structure, opened in February 1949, was replaced in April 1971.

Here’s what the Palatine Depot looked like in 1910.

Finally, at least for now, this is the latest version dedicated in June 2001.  The taxpayer’s took the “hit” on this one!
