Milwaukee Chapter Luncheon
The Annual Milwaukee Chapter Luncheon, Veterans'
Association of the Chicago andNorthWestern Railway
was held Saturday, October 18, 2014, at Alioto's Restaurant inWauwatosa,
Wisconsin. Seventy six members and
guests attended.
Milwaukee Chapter President, Curt Schmidt, led the
group in a prayer and the Pledge ofAllegiance. A moment of silence was observed for departed
members and spouses ofmembers.
Before our delicious meal of pork
chops, chicken, or fish was served, Curt introducedseveral
of the various Chapter Officers in attendance.
After lunch, Curt Schmidt asked the members whether
anyone was interested in theMilwaukee Chapter
positions of President, Vice President, or Secretary/Treasurer. A quickresponse by
Dewayne Stiefvater to keep the same officers, all
were in favor.

We were entertained after the short meeting by the one
and only "Mr. Senior Moment",Dan
Sylvester. Everyone enjoys his
songs. Thanks, Dan.
Door prizes were drawn and I want to give a big Thank
you to Mo and Bill Regner for theirhard work in
obtaining all the prizes. A special
Thank you to Bill's Mom, Doris Regner, daughter, Robin Regner for filling in
for Bill & Mo in their absents, and to Frank Nobilefor helping with the passing out of the prizes.
A raffle drawing was held after the door prizes. A special Thank you goes to Barb Schmidt in
her efforts in gathering of raffle prizes, and the handmade C&NW Railroad blanket
and pillow she donated. Thanks to Ron
and Dixie Marquardt for the Pasta Basket,Dianne
Koppelman - Flag Set, Yvonne Sylvester - BBQ Basket,
and Janice Geil - Fall FunBasket. Thanks to Dewayne Stiefvater
for handling the sale of raffle tickets.
Next year our Annual Luncheon will again be held at Allioto's Restaurant, Wauwatosa,Wisconsin on Saturday, October 17, 2015. Hope to see you there.
