Minutes of the Green Bay Chapters of the C&NW Veterans and NARVE. Joint meeting held at the National Railroad Museum, March 18, 2015

 

The following to be read at our next meeting at the Titletown Restaurant on April 15, 2015 at 10AM.

 

President Truman Koehn read the minutes of our last meeting of February 18, 2015.

 

No report from NARVE at this time.

 

Old business:   None

 

New Business:  Discussion concerning a photo in the Green Bay Community News showing the crew members on the last departing Milwaukee Road passenger train, the Copper Country Limited,  which departed Chicago March 7, 1968. And it departed Green Bay at 12:55AM on March 8, 1968. This train traveled 424 miles, made 31 stops, and took over 14 hours to reach Calumet, MI.  When the mail car service was dropped in late 1967, this spelled the end for the Copper Country Limited.

 

The All Railroad-All Crafts annual Green Bay reunion dinner will be held again at the Stadium View (Traditions Hall), on Friday night, April 25, 2015. 1983 Holmgren Way, $13 a person, $26 a couple, doors open at 5:30PM with dinner at 7PM.  Reservations must be in by April 15 to Bob Andrews, 5235 County S, Oconto, WI  54153   or call 920-373-1890.  Free Beer and Soda after the dinner.  Checks payable to the "Annual Railroad Reunion Dinner".

 

Report on sick members:  None at this time.

 

Report on deceased members:  Lester Erdmann  (member) 03/02/15 Telegrapher, age 91.

 

Meeting closed at 11AM

 

Our next meeting, after our April 15 meeting, will be Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the National RR Museum.   10AM.
