Minutes: Meeting of Nov. 19, 2014 combined Green Bay chapters of the C&NW Vets and NARVE at the National RR Museum.

The following minutes to be read at our next meeting at the National Railroad Museum on Wednesday December 17, 2014.

President Truman Koehn of the C&NW Veterans Association read the minutes of the previous meeting held at Titletown Brewing on Wednesday October 15, 2014.

7 members were in attendance.

No activities to report from NARVE at this time.

Old Business: None.

New Business: There was discussion about the Sailor Train which operated out of Milwaukee on Sunday evenings over 40 years ago back to Great Lakes. Truman showed a variety of railroad art Christmas cards that are available now that the Holidays are drawing near. We also discussed an article that was in the July 2014 issue of Harpers Magazine that showed the Federal transportation subsidies being allocated in our national budget. For example: Highways, $41.5 billion, Aviation, $16.0 billion and Amtrak, $1.6 billion. Despite the lessor amount spent on Amtrak, many members of the U.S. Congress feel our government is spending too much money on Amtrak.

Our local members also voted to donate $75.00 from our funds for the National Railroad Museum. We use their facilities for 8 of our meetings each year and we are always welcomed there. Dick Jobelius of NARVE confirmed that NARVE would also donate $75.00 to the National RR Museum to match the C&NW donation.

Report on sick members: Nothing to report.

Report on deceased members: Nothing to report.

Our next meeting (after December 17, 2014) will be at the Titletown Brewery on Wednesday January 21, 2015.

Submitted by Lauren Bockin, S/T C&NW Veterans Assoc. Green Bay Chapter.
