Charles H. Whyte  (Director of C&NW Veterans Assn)

 

 

Charles H. Whyte longtime Merton resident passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the age of 95.

He worked at the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for many years and helped run the family farm. In addition to building chiming clocks, after retirement he worked as a conductor on the Steam Train in North Lake and in Florida.

Charles was preceded in death by his first wife Doris (nee Ryan), his parents Samuel and Agnes and his brother Gordon. He is survived by his wife of 15 years Esther "Bessie" (Geszvain), his step children Joe (Eva) Geszvain of AK, Daniel (Marisela) Geszvain of AZ, Pete (Karen) Geszvain of Germantown, Robert (Jeanne) Geszvain of Union Grove, Charles Jr. (Linda) Geszvain of Tomah, Linda (Harry) George of Hartland, Paul Geszvain of West Allis and Scott Geszvain of Ixonia, 29 step grandchildren, 26 step great-grandchildren and 3 step great-great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister-in-law Ruth Whyte, nieces and nephews Ken (Diana) Whyte, Carolyn (Jim) Barthel, Sherrie (Scott) Anderson and Tom Ryan.

Funeral Services 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at St. John's United Church of Christ W2831 Sussex Road, Merton. Visitation 11:00 a.m. until the time of Services. Final rest Pinelawn Cemetery, Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. John's Church, Cecelia Place or Compashionate Care Hospice appreciated.
