2009 Operation Lifesaver Train to Sterling, IL

|Home|

On July 25, 2009, the Operation Lifesaver Train made two trips from West Chicago to Sterling, while on the day before it ran out to Dalton.  Mark Llanuza was on board as the official event photographer and thanks to him we have these pictures.  Stops were made at Elburn and DeKalb, and there was a lay-over at Sterling for lunch before returning to West Chicago.  Many of the passengers were local officials from towns along the line.  Looks like a good time was had by all!

Help with identifications will be appreciated.  Click here.

Here’s the train at West Chicago.  There were units on both ends so it was not necessary to wye the train at Nelson.  The E-9 B unit was for head end power.
